The faculty team from three departments elevated a popup store branding project to become a cross-disciplinary project by integrating virtual reality to quickly prototype to save time and cost before fabricating the actual popup store.
The White Box: Brand Experience Design project involved creating an innovative mobile store concept utilizing virtual reality technology. Collaborating with the Business School provided valuable entrepreneurial insights that informed our design process. We employed VR for rapid prototyping and user testing, resulting in a flexible, modular store design adaptable to various brands and markets. This project exemplified how technology can be integrated into physical retail spaces while showcasing strategic design thinking within business applications.
The project was featured in an annual faculty exhibition for the audience to experience the VR Model of the project.
The virtual models were sketched quickly to test the branding system and iterated to find the appropriate detention and specification before fabricating actual popup stores.
After multiple VR tests and models, the final design files were sent to the CNC machine to develop the final products of the popup stores.
