The Mike Evanisko Project is a long-term initiative that advances interdisciplinary design collaboration at Penn State University. Over the past four years, it has fostered partnerships between the Department of Graphic Design and Penn State University Libraries, integrating System Design Thinking into real-world design challenges. With ongoing funding, including a $100K grant and a four-year commitment, the project continues to create opportunities for students and faculty to engage in meaningful, community-focused design work. I also secured an additional $100K grant to support a six-year partnership, further expanding opportunities for students to develop innovative design solutions while collaborating with diverse communities. This year, we continue building on this momentum and exploring new possibilities.

1st year students are conducting user interviews and site analysis to develop databases for design decision-making.
